Eva Kreuger

Studio at Nieuwe Vide - Haarlem, The Netherlands.

Artist Statement

Eva Kreuger (she/they) (1995, The Netherlands) lives in The Hague. They studied Photography at AKV | St. Joost Breda (2017). She was selected by Unseen Foundation for Futures Photography platform and participated in the BredaPhoto International Talent Program. In 2022, she received the Artist Start grant from the Mondriaan Fund.

Kreuger bases their research on the act of collecting. Creating an ever-growing archive of found photography, documentation of artistic processes, conversations, machines and objects. Themes include the relationship between photography and transience, photography and space, at the same time they ask questions about shaping an artist’s practice, concerning the value of work and the right to space.

Struggling with the flat surface of the photographic medium, she shifts images back and forth between two- and three-dimensional objects as she works on sculptures and installations.
